Blossom the Calf

Little Blossom has been at Hillfields since she was 2 weeks old. Like so many calves, she never saw or drank from her mother, being removed from her at birth, so distressing for both mother & baby. She was destined to make the traumatic journey to Holland to be incarcerated in a veal crate, being fattened for someone's dinner. Thankfully, she was one of the lucky few to be rescued and will spend the rest of her natural life at the sanctuary.

She is slowly learning to trust humans instead of fear us and especially loves the companionship of the donkey and sheep whom she snuggles up to at night!
